Our Sustainability Agenda
A Sweeter Future
Our sustainability agenda, A Sweeter Future, is centred on creating positive and sustainable development throughout our value chain. Through science‑based climate targets, measurable performance indicators, a clear strategy for vegan alternatives and strong, collaborative supplier partnerships, we have made significant progress. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected across our entire organisation — from how we develop our packaging, to how we transport raw materials and finished products, to how we optimise our production processes.
We work continuously to improve the environmental performance of our production facilities, and our environmental objectives are monitored and evaluated on an ongoing basis. To reduce our climate footprint, we prioritise the use of green electricity in our production facilities. Transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources is a key measure in lowering our overall emissions. Our renewable electricity is sourced from wind and hydropower as well as biomass.
Our three foundational pillars reflect the matters most important to our stakeholders and the areas where Cloetta can create the greatest economic, social and environmental value:

As a signatory of the UN Global Compact since 2009, we support the Sustainable Development Goals, both directly and indirectly, through the work carried out within our three strategic pillars. As a fast‑moving consumer goods company with a global value chain, we have chosen to focus on six of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals: Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), Gender Equality (SDG 5), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), Climate Action (SDG 13), Life on Land (SDG 15) and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
In 2020, Cloetta joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and had its science‑based targets validated, with 2019 as the baseline year.
